The Internet is rife with websites that cater especially to the Betta fish. Here are some of my favorites:
- International Betta Congress - This is a must-join, especially if you're going to become involved with breeding. The International Betta Congress (IBC) is an organization dedicated to the keeping, breeding, showing, and protection of Betta Splendens and wild type Bettas.
- Amazon - A convenient source not only for other books on Bettas but (surprisingly) for products such as aquariums and food as well.
- AquaBid.com - You can buy and sell aquarium equipment and higher-quality Betta fish on AquaBid.com. Use their search feature and type the word "Betta" to see all of their Betta-related auctions. Word of warning about the site itself -- be sure to have a pop-up blocker installed before visiting, otherwise AquaBid will flood you with pop-up windows.
- The Fish That Threatened National Security - A very cute story about a Betta Fish and the failure of the Department of Homeland Security to bring about its execution by "flushing."
- BubbleNest.com - The place for Betta Splendens lovers - A useful question-and-answer site on our favorite fish. Ask about everything from Betta health to feeding, breeding and genetics.
Cordially,
Marcus Song
